Course Title: Prevention Science
Course Description: The relationship between law enforcement and prevention has suffered over the misunderstanding of how these two perspectives are related and the extent to which police science and prevention science share mutual goals and objectives. This training will highlight the importance of this relationship with specific applications in implementing evidence-based prevention programming in schools. The training will address the three main approaches in school-based prevention: school policies, school climate, and prevention curriculum, with a special emphasis on the latter through a review of the scientific foundations of Too Good For Drugs.
