Government Advisory Board Member William Schievella on Teaching “On The Street” Program

Today I enjoyed teaching the second session of the Law Enforcement Against Drugs (LEAD) “On the Street” Course for fifty patrol officers, detectives and corrections officers. This program was sponsored and funded by our Bergen County Sheriff’s Office and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office. This important course helps provide law enforcement with real strategies to prevent drug and alcohol abuse by our youth while helping them make positive choices. The course also provides real methods to develop community relations and improve the image of police. We must all work together in real ways to help to stem the tide of this battle. Thanks to Prosecutor Gurbir Grewal and Sheriff Michael Saudino for being the first Sheriff and Prosecutor in the state to bring this training to they’re law enforcement. It was great teaching with John O’Malley And Dawn Shields again. The best is yet to come with this program.
